Paris - France
Discovering Paris this week is no longer limited to the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, and its historic streets; The French capital has turned into a huge exhibition space with Paris Design Week 2026 continuing until September 19, in an event that moves design from exhibition halls to streets, hotels, stores, workshops, museums and heritage buildings, and gives the visitor a different way to discover the city.
450 design stations redraw the map of Paris
The events are spread across about 450 main sites, according to the official program, distributed over four regions: Left Bank, Marais-Bastille-Republic, Opera-Concorde-Etoile, and Palais Royal-Place de Victoires-Pigalle. Galleries, shops, workshops, hotels, restaurants and museums participate in presenting exhibitions, temporary installations and new launches.
A city discovered this time on foot
The tourist dimension is clearly evident in 10 thematic walking paths, allowing the visitor to move between the neighborhoods of Paris and see the works of designers while discovering the architecture, shops, cafes and streets. With most participating sites available for free, the design itself becomes a reason to walk around the city rather than just an event within an exhibition.
The design goes to the heart of historic buildings
One of the most prominent experiences of the course is the installation of designer Anthony Guerrée inside the Bourdelle Museum, where contemporary design works enter into dialogue with Antoine Bourdelle’s sculptures. Maison Victor Hugo also hosts a sensory experience that brings together the works of ceramic designer Lucas Huillet and perfumes by Alexandre Helwani, in an example of using historical sites to produce new cultural experiences.
From watching the works to living the experience
In the Marais district, the PICNIC project presents a huge table inside the courtyard of the Hôtel d’Albret, inviting the public to sit and interact with the design instead of just watching it. The city of Paris says that Design Week continues to expand its presence within heritage sites, in parallel with supporting emerging talent and enhancing the international presence of the creative scene in the capital.
September gives the Arab tourist a different Paris
For the Arab visitor in Paris during September, the week provides an opportunity to combine shopping, culture, restaurants, and discovering design in one tour, especially since many of the events are free and distributed within well-known tourist neighbourhoods. Here Paris itself turns into an open museum; The street, the exhibition hall, and the historical building are part of the experience, and walking between the neighborhoods is the entrance ticket.
