Riyadh - Saudi Arabia
In a qualitative leap that enhances the position of the Saudi capital as a global tourist destination, the Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh has awarded the contract for the construction of a new metro station on the Yellow Route, to be the modern gateway that will connect visitors from all over the world to the Expo 2030 site, in a project that transforms the capital into an integrated model for advanced urban tourism.
The afternoon station...a design that reflects the identity of the event
The new station is located north of Riyadh, with a design and engineering that reflects the character of Expo 2030. It will extend over an area that will serve more than 40 million visitors expected during the event’s duration, combining functionality and aesthetics in an architectural edifice befitting a global event the size of Expo. The station is scheduled to include integrated tourist facilities, including comfortable waiting areas, tourist information services, souvenir outlets, restaurants and cafes, so that the station itself will turn into a destination for the traveler to visit and not just a transit point.
The yellow path: a tourist trip through Riyadh’s landmarks
The yellow route (Line 4) is a vital artery linking the most prominent landmarks of the capital, as it passes through King Khalid International Airport, the King Abdullah Financial Center (KAFD), and residential and commercial neighborhoods, allowing visitors an integrated tourist experience starting directly from the airport. With the operation of the station, the Riyadh train network will transform into a tourist destination that allows the traveler to move between museums, commercial centers and cultural sites smoothly, which enhances the visitor’s experience and encourages him to explore the depth of Riyadh’s cultural and heritage.
Tourism investment with strategic returns
In terms of tourism attraction, the station and the accompanying infrastructure projects are expected to contribute to achieving a qualitative leap, according to the Public Investment Fund, as Expo 2030 is estimated to add about 64 billion dollars to the domestic product, and provide 171 thousand job opportunities, most of them in the tourism, hospitality and related services sectors, which creates an attractive environment for hotel and real estate investment. The event is also expected to receive more than 40 million visits, 57% of which are from outside the Kingdom, which represents an unprecedented boost to the inbound tourism sector.
An exceptional opportunity for Arab tourists and investors
For the Arab tourist, Expo 2030 will be an opportunity to explore the Kingdom from the gate of Riyadh, through an integrated tourism experience that combines the global event and exploration of the capital, thanks to ease of transportation and modern infrastructure. For the investor, these developments open new horizons in the hospitality sector, as Riyadh prepares to receive millions of visitors, creating an unprecedented demand for hotels, resorts and travel services, especially with the continued launch of major projects in the capital that keep pace with the ambitious 2030 Vision.
