Amman-Jordan

On September 15 and 16, the Jordanian capital, Amman, will host the “Arab Levant Conference for Agricultural Exports,” organized by the Jordanian Association of Fruit and Vegetable Exporters and Producers and a joint initiative by the Smart Desert Company and the Jordanian Chinese Agricultural Company.

The Kingdom’s choice to host this regional gathering is based on its vital geographical location that links regional production markets with major consumption centers in the Arabian Gulf and Europe, with broad participation from government agencies and the private sector. With the aim of enhancing export competitiveness, opening direct channels between farmers and international buyers, and attracting qualitative investment partnerships that support supply chains and are consistent with the goals of the national economic modernization vision.

Four main axes examining financing and logistical solutions

The conference’s activities are divided into four main axes, covering food security issues, agricultural integration opportunities, innovative financing solutions for insurance and risk management in cooperation with banking institutions, in addition to quality requirements and standards and safety certificates approved by international markets.
The Logistics and Shipping Services axis, with the participation of former ministers and experts, also focuses on addressing the challenges of land and sea transport and refrigeration technologies, to ensure reducing losses and facilitating the transit of shipments. Dr. Muhammad Khreis, CEO of Jibril Investment Solutions Group, explained that the conference brings together technology, seed and laboratory companies; To provide a clear export roadmap for farmers, facilitate the conclusion of direct contracts, and overcome common trade obstacles.

Impacts on business tourism and hotel accommodation

Organizing this specialized forum gives a vital impetus to revitalizing the business tourism, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) movement in Jordan, by attracting dozens of economic delegations, investors and traders coming from the regional neighboring countries and the European continent.
This effectiveness is directly reflected in the hospitality sector by increasing hotel occupancy rates in accommodation facilities and resorts in the capital, Amman, and activating the sectors of transportation, car rental, restaurants, and supporting logistics services, in addition to the role of these forums in introducing the business community and visitors to the stable investment environment of the Kingdom and stimulating tourist cash flows that support the general national economy in a comprehensive manner.
