Rome - Italy
In a move that reflects Venice's status as a capital of art and elegance, the floating city opened a new museum dedicated to the legacy of the late fashion designer Pierre Cardin, in the presence of Venice Mayor Simone Venturini and French Ambassador to Italy Anne-Marie Discot. This opening comes 75 years after the legendary “Ball of the Century” at the Labia Palace, for which Cardin designed about 30 costumes, making it a turning point in his career.
A journey through decades of creativity
The museum offers its visitors an exceptional journey through Cardin's most prominent creative stations, where they can enjoy the sixties designs inspired by the space age, which made him a pioneer in future fashion. The offer is not limited to famous pieces only, but also includes the famous “bubble dress” and geometric and metal designs that combined fashion, art and design in a unique harmony.
A treasure of 30 thousand dresses
The Cardin House archive includes about 30,000 dresses, from which a selection was chosen to be displayed on a rotating basis in the museum, giving visitors the opportunity to explore different stages of the designer’s career, who died in 2020 at the age of 98, leaving an immortal legacy in the world of fashion.
In a statement during the opening ceremony, Venice Mayor Simone Venturini said: “This museum is not just a fashion show, but rather a tribute to an artistic vision that has transcended time and made Venice a cultural destination par excellence.” He added: "Cardin was part of the history of our city, and this museum will be a new window to the world on his genius."
A new destination for fashion and art lovers
Reservations to visit the museum are scheduled to begin on September 13, opening the door for fashion lovers from all over the world, especially from the Arab region, to discover this new landmark in the city of Venice. The museum is a qualitative addition for Arab tourists interested in fashion and art, as they can combine exploring the historical beauty of Venice with seeing the creations of one of the most prominent designers of the twentieth century.
A promising investment opportunity
For Arab investors, the opening of this museum represents a promising opportunity in the cultural tourism sector, especially with the increasing interest of Arab tourists in luxury fashion and art experiences. It is estimated that the museum will contribute to attracting a new segment of visitors to Venice, which will strengthen the local economy and open horizons for investment in sectors related to tourism and entertainment.
