Berlin - Germany
Direct Emirates flights to Berlin have become closer to reality, after the German government on September 10, 2026 granted an Emirati airline a fifth landing point in Germany, and Emirates chose Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The decision comes during a state visit by UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Berlin, where memorandums of intent for UAE investments worth 40 billion euros were signed on the same day.
Seven weekly flights and direct connections only
German Federal Minister of Transport Steffen Bilger set the framework of the new rights, with a maximum ceiling of seven flights per week from the new landing point, that is, one daily flight, with operation limited to direct connections between Germany and the Emirates without extending from Berlin to third countries. Bilger said that years of negotiations finally led to a sustainable result, and that granting the Emirati tanker a fifth landing point links Germany to the Emirates better.
Boeing 777-300ER awaiting official schedule
On June 9, 2026, Emirates Airlines announced its readiness to operate a daily flight to Berlin with a Boeing 777-300ER, with a commitment to invest more than 100 million euros annually. The date of the first flight will be determined when the company announces its official schedule and opens reservations, after years of stagnation that began since the air transport agreement signed in 1994, which restricted Emirati carriers to four German cities.
What does the new line mean for Arab tourists?
The decision represents a direct gain for the Gulf traveler, as it adds a direct option towards eastern Germany, to which flights previously arrived via an intermediate station. One daily flight leaves one date on the schedule, making early booking the best way to secure price and timing during peak seasons. As for the Arab investor, the direct connection with the German capital enhances business and tourism opportunities in a market whose new investments are estimated at tens of billions of euros, and opens the door to mutual trade and tourism flows between the two sides. Until the schedule is announced, Berlin can be reached via the four current German destinations, then a domestic flight or train to the capital.
