Brussels - Belgium
Brussels today does not need a closed club to create a nightlife atmosphere; The city itself turns into an open stage. On September 12, 2026, the third edition of the Brussels Open Air Festival will return, distributing music and dance to five prominent squares and locations in the capital, from two in the afternoon until ten in the evening, with the participation of ten local musical gatherings.

Five arenas...and five musical figures

The events extend between Place du Congrès, Place d’Espagne, Vaux Hall, Place Jean Rey and Place Poelaert, with a program ranging from hip-hop, R&B, techno, dub and Afrobeats. The idea is not based on one central theater, but rather on turning movement between the city’s neighborhoods into part of the same experience.

The city becomes the entry card

At Place Jean Rey, La Fabriek and BIOME lead the eight-hour program, while Poelaert hosts the Vostock gathering before the evening later moves to Studio Citygate. At Vaux Hall, Nashaz, Fatma Soundsystem and FEMMEBASS share the space, while other locations offer different atmospheres throughout the day.

Music charts a tourist route
What is most important for tourism is that the festival does not require the visitor to stay in one location. The Festival Pass allows you to move between more than one square, so that the trip turns from a concert into an urban tour that crosses different areas of Brussels. This model makes night culture part of discovering the city, not an activity separate from it.

Brussels showcases its diversity with sound

The festival, coordinated by the City of Brussels and Brussels By Night, offers a microcosm of the cultural diversity of the capital, through local gatherings and multiple musical styles in the public space. This gives the visitor the opportunity to see Brussels as its residents live it, away from the traditional tourist path.

For the Arab tourist...an unconventional evening

For the Arab tourist in Brussels this week, the event offers a different way to discover the capital: a tour of the squares, architecture, music and local life in one day, instead of being limited to landmarks and museums. Here the music is not the background to the trip; Rather, it becomes the road that leads the visitor through the city.
