Dubai - UAE

In conjunction with the UAE’s celebrations of Emirati Women’s Day, Dubai Municipality is organizing the “Athar” exhibition in “Hawi Nad Al Sheba” during the period from 7 to 21 September this year, in a step that takes the concept of women’s empowerment to broader horizons, to highlight the tangible impact of their contributions to society, the economy, and quality of life.

The name “Athar” embodies the idea from which the exhibition began; After an extended journey of supporting Emirati women, empowering them, and enhancing their participation, this exhibition comes to shed light on what this journey has yielded, celebrating talents, projects, success stories, and influential contributions.

Interactive workshops targeting 250 participants

The exhibition is accompanied by a rich program of interactive workshops, benefiting about 250 participants from various segments of society, including children, adults, women, senior citizens and people of determination. The workshops range from fashion design, perfume making, and handicrafts and wooden crafts, in addition to a specialized workshop in perfume making for senior citizens in cooperation with the Community Development Authority.

Iman Al Falasi: Investing in women is an investment in the future
Iman Al Falasi, Chairman of the Dubai Municipality Women’s Council, said: “Athar Exhibition represents an integrated and innovative community space that combines support for commercial projects, learning and family entertainment, as it brings together owners of small and medium enterprises and productive families under its umbrella.”

She added: “

We at Dubai Municipality believe that investing in women’s capabilities is an investment in the future of the nation, and through Athar Exhibition; We seek to highlight the impact of Emirati women’s contributions and enhance the presence of their projects and talents, in a way that supports their role in building a more prosperous society and enhances the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.”

For the Arab tourist...a different cultural and entertainment experience

The "Athar" exhibition is not limited to being a local event, but rather represents a promising tourism model for the Arab visitor looking for authentic experiences in Dubai. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to learn closely about the creative projects of productive families and business owners, and to acquire local products bearing the imprint of Emirati women, such as fashion, perfumes, and handicrafts.
As for Arab women, the exhibition carries a clear message: that empowerment is not just a slogan, but a reality translated into small projects and creative ideas that grow with institutional support, making the exhibition an inspiring platform for ambitions in the Arab world.
