Damascus - Syria
The Ministry of Tourism launches from the ancient Aleppo Citadel a new interactive experience that employs modern technologies to revive heritage, in conjunction with the celebration of “World Tourism Day.” The initiative aims to raise the level of tourism services and make the historical heritage available to visitors in an innovative, modern manner, making Aleppo the first stop within a comprehensive strategy to apply the model to various heritage destinations in the country.
An official vision to highlight the heritage identity
Regarding the objectives of this digital project, Minister of Tourism Mazen Al-Salhani told SANA:
“We chose Aleppo Citadel as the starting point, because it summarizes much of what we want to present to the world about Syria: an exceptional heritage, a living identity, and a tourist experience that we want to re-present with new tools.”
The Minister stressed that technology is a tool to embody the stories of historical sites and make them more interactive with the visitor.
International celebration and support of partnerships
The historic castle is hosting a high-level celebration that will witness a prominent government and diplomatic presence to announce the details of the initiative. The event is jointly organized by the Junior International Chamber of \u200b\u200bBeruia and the Northern Region Tourism Chamber, to strengthen partnership between the public and private sectors and improve the quality of investment and hospitality services, a year after the castle was reopened to visitors after its restoration.
Promising opportunities for Arab tourists and investors
The new experience provides Arab tourists with a rich option to discover one of the most prominent World Heritage sites in an interactive format that suits families and cultural tourism enthusiasts. On the investment level, the transformation of archaeological sites towards digital solutions opens promising horizons for Arab investors in the fields of hospitality, management of heritage attractions, and logistical services, making the city a major gateway for integrated tourism projects.
