Dubai-United Arab Emirates
The Dubai World Trade Center revealed that it will host more than a hundred international exhibitions, conferences and trade events during the last quarter of this year, marking the busiest and most active quarter in its extended history.
These major events are distributed between the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center in the Financial District and the Dubai Exhibition Center in Expo City Dubai, coinciding with the acceleration of construction work in the comprehensive expansion project at a cost of ten billion dirhams to bring the exhibition areas to one hundred and eighty thousand square meters, which supports the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda to raise revenues to fifty-four billion dirhams.
Vital sectors include technology, tourism and real estate
The agenda includes leading global forums covering technology, hospitality, tourism, energy, real estate, and beauty. The scene is dominated by quality events, including the Water, Energy and Environment Technology Exhibition (WETEX), the World Green Economy Summit, the Gulfood Manufacturing Exhibition, the Big Five International Construction Exhibition, in addition to the GITEX Global Exhibition.
Maher Julfar, Executive Vice President of the Dubai World Trade Centre, stressed that this record momentum reflects the flexibility of the events system and the emirate’s logistical readiness to host the largest international gatherings simultaneously and with superior operational efficiency, accommodating tens of thousands of exhibitors and specialists coming from all continents of the world.
Direct repercussions on tourism movement and hotel occupancy
These intensive hosting operations have a fundamental and direct impact on the prosperity of business tourism and international conferences, which pushes hotel occupancy rates towards full occupancy levels in hotel establishments and luxury resorts near exhibition centers and downtown areas.
The influx of hundreds of thousands of visitors and executive delegations also contributes to stimulating air traffic, hospitality facilities, high-end restaurants, and entertainment shopping centers, in addition to motivating business travelers to extend their stays to explore cultural attractions and exceptional entertainment destinations, which enhances overall tourism revenues and consolidates Dubai’s leadership as a global capital for major events tourism and business travel.
