Cairo - Egypt
Today, Tuesday, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi opened the activities of the second edition of the El Alamein International Aviation and Space Exhibition 2026 at El Alamein International Airport, in the presence of Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The three-day event witnesses the participation of more than 260 exhibitors from 50 countries, along with 100 high-level official delegations representing defense ministers and air force commanders from around the world.
World-class air shows and advanced technologies
The skies of El Alamein were decorated with dazzling air shows in which the Egyptian Air Force participated alongside international aerobatic teams, including the “Emirates Knights,” the “Saudi Falcons,” the “Russian Knights,” the “Black Eagles” from South Korea, the “Sorya Kiran” from India, and the “Turkish Stars.” The exhibition also witnessed for the first time in Egypt the appearance of the Russian Sukhoi Su-57 stealth fighter, along with the Rafale and F-16 fighters.
A platform for international cooperation and promising investments
Dr. Sameh El-Hafny, Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation, confirmed that this exhibition represents “a distinguished opportunity to enhance international cooperation, exchange experiences and visions, and learn about the latest findings of modern technologies in various fields of aviation,” noting that it is “a strategic platform for attracting investments.”
Al-Hafni added that the hosting of the exhibition by the new city of El Alamein “reflects the Egyptian vision aimed at consolidating the position of the new cities as global platforms for hosting major events, and that El Alamein International Airport is a cultural interface and a strategic pillar to support tourism and investment.”
A golden opportunity for Arab tourists and investors
The impact of this event is not limited to the aviation and space sector only, but also extends to the tourism and real estate sectors, as major international events contribute to increasing tourism and commercial traffic, raising hotel occupancy rates, and enhancing demand for residential and administrative units within the city. With the participation of industry giants such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Airbus, and Leonardo, the exhibition is a vital gateway to learning about the latest developments in aviation and defense technology, making it an ideal destination for Arab experts and investors looking for promising partnership opportunities in one of the fastest growing cities in the Middle East.
