Muscat-Sultanate of Oman
The second edition of Oman Climate Week 2026 will be launched in the capital, Muscat, organized by the Environment Agency, during the period from September 14 to 16, with wide international participation that includes representatives and official delegations from more than fifty countries around the world.
This qualitative event aims to unify the efforts of government institutions, the private sector and civil society to discuss the transition towards a low-carbon economy and accelerate access to zero carbon neutrality, in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040 and the commitments of the Paris Climate Agreement, amid expectations of attracting more than twenty-five thousand visitors from specialists and interested parties.
A specialized exhibition that includes 100 exhibitors and community environmental initiatives
More than a hundred international exhibitors and speakers will participate in the event, showcasing the latest technologies and services in the fields of energy, water, industry and environmental finance, in parallel with dialogue sessions for CEOs, capacity-building workshops, signing cooperation agreements and launching a hackathon for youth.
The week will also witness the organization of the Women and Youth Climate Conferences, in addition to a package of prominent community initiatives that include the Green Legacy of Afforestation, Oman Without Plastic, and the Our Sands and Our Coast initiatives, with the aim of preserving desert and marine ecosystems, consolidating effective partnerships in preserving natural resources and supporting paths of innovation and environmental sustainability in various development sectors.
Impacts on business tourism and hotel accommodation
This global event contributes to giving a strong impetus to tourism for international events and conferences (MICE) in the Sultanate of Oman, by transforming Muscat into a central destination for sustainability and green economy dialogues in the region.
These flows have a positive impact on the hospitality sector and tourism supply chains by recording a significant increase in hotel occupancy rates in luxury establishments, revitalizing the air and land transport sectors, restaurants and service facilities, in addition to stimulating visiting international delegations to explore the country’s ancient environmental and natural tourism components, thus enhancing the returns on tourism spending and supporting the diversification of the national economic streams.
