Riyadh - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The King Abdulaziz Foundation and the National Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a comprehensive executive program to enhance joint cultural and intellectual work, develop the fields of scientific publishing, translation, and establish specialized historical forums.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the CEO of the Department, Turki bin Muhammad Al-Shuwaier, and the Director of the Kazakh Archives, Nurlanova Sajila Yesemiyetovna, so that this measure comes as an extension of the memorandum of cooperation signed between the two sides in May 2025, transforming its general frameworks into realistic implementation paths that serve research and heritage documents and consolidate knowledge relations between the Kingdom and the countries of Central Asia.

Four main axes include organizing exhibitions and exchanging experiences

The joint executive program is based on four main work axes: The first of these is concerned with intensifying translation and publishing to convey rare historical contents, and holding documentary exhibitions, seminars and accompanying lectures that highlight the mutual cultural diversity.
The second axis focuses on practical training and professional development programs for archival cadres and the exchange of technical expertise, while the third axis directs its efforts towards supporting joint scientific events and conferences, while the fourth axis is concerned with motivating historians and researchers to prepare in-depth studies on joint documents and open modern archival and research paths for scholars in the two countries.

Qualitative implications for revitalizing cultural tourism and international exhibitions

This partnership contributes significantly to revitalizing cultural tourism and specialized international exhibitions and events (MICE) tourism in the Kingdom. Holding joint exhibitions contributes to attracting elite researchers, academics, and lovers of Arab and Islamic heritage from Central Asia and beyond.

This academic movement has a positive impact on reviving the hospitality sector and raising hotel occupancy rates in cities hosting events, in addition to stimulating mutual air traffic and activating the service and restaurant sectors, in addition to its prominent role in promoting the historical richness and national heritage of Saudi Arabia as a unique global cultural destination.
