Tokyo - Japan
Rakuten Fashion Week in Tokyo continues its spring and summer 2027 collections, with the participation of designers and brands from Japan and several international markets. The tournament will continue until September 5, with the Shibuya Hikari Complex as its main headquarters, in addition to independent locations hosting special offers throughout the Japanese capital.

An international presence on today's programme

The September 1st program will witness five shows, led by the Canadian “Global Fashion Collective” platform, which brings together designers Shoshoni Hostler, Shinobu Uchida, and Perry Jones. The “BENCH/ Presents Threads of Dreams” project also presents three design visions from the Philippines, with the participation of Jagi Galarino, Joey Samson, and Rhett Ayala.
Japanese design is presented through “support surface” by designer Norio Sorikabe, and the “MITSURU OKAZAKI” brand, before “MEGMIURA WARDROBE” concludes today’s program with a show held at “Shibuya Hikari.”

28 sets on Tokyo platforms

The cycle includes 28 groups, divided between 25 official designer shows and three partnership shows, including nine participants from outside Japan. This diversity reflects the organizers' intention to strengthen Tokyo's position as an Asian platform that connects local talent with buyers, media and global markets, in the face of the traditional dominance of fashion weeks in Paris, Milan, London and New York.

A new stage after two decades

The Japanese Fashion Week organization said that the session represents the beginning of a new phase twenty years after the founding of the platform, explaining that it seeks to develop a week that bears the character of Tokyo more clearly, supports designers working in Japan, and expands opportunities for cooperation and exchange with foreign events and markets.

Opportunities for Arab brands

The event represents increasing importance for Arab designers and investors looking for partnerships in Asia, especially in the areas of technical fabrics, sustainable design and digital retail. Following emerging Japanese brands also provides an opportunity to understand a market that combines fine craftsmanship and modern technologies, and opens a new path for Arab fashion houses to reach the Asian consumer.
