Muscat - Oman
Salam Air, the low-cost carrier in the Sultanate of Oman, announced the operation of its new flights to the Danish capital, Copenhagen, with the first flights scheduled to take off on November 14, 2026. This step comes within the expansion strategy that the carrier is witnessing this year, as Copenhagen is the ninth international destination to join its network during the year 2026.

Two flights a week with 5th freedom rights

SalamAir will operate its flights between Baghdad and Copenhagen under Fifth Freedom rights, as the new service will connect Muscat and Copenhagen, passing through the Iraqi capital. Travelers from Muscat will be able to continue their trips to Copenhagen via Baghdad, while travelers from Iraq can book direct flights between Baghdad and the Danish capital, with two flights per week.

Strengthening tourism and commercial ties

The new service will provide convenient travel options, enhance international air connectivity, and meet the demand for travel for tourism, business and visiting family and friends. It will also open new horizons for tourism, trade and cultural exchange between the Middle East and Northern Europe, and contribute to attracting new segments of travelers through the carrier’s network.
Copenhagen, gateway to Scandinavia

Copenhagen is distinguished by its unique architectural landmarks, waterfronts, cultural facilities, and lively business environment, making it an attractive destination throughout the year for tourism and business travelers. As one of the most prominent gateways to the Scandinavia region, the new destination will contribute to introducing travelers from Denmark and neighboring markets to the diverse tourist attractions of the Sultanate of Oman, and facilitating their access to SalamAir’s network of destinations.

A promising opportunity for Arab tourists and investors

This new European expansion represents a qualitative opportunity for the Arab traveler looking for tourist and cultural experiences in Northern Europe, as the new flights allow easy access to Copenhagen and other Scandinavian capitals via Baghdad. It also opens the door for investors and businessmen to strengthen trade ties between the Middle East and Northern European markets, taking advantage of Oman’s strategic location as a growing logistics and tourism center, and the carrier’s network that provides flexible travel options suitable for different segments of travellers.
