Doha - Qatar
In a scene awaited by sports fans around the world, Visit Qatar unveiled the details of the Lusail City route, which will host the final of the Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championship for the second time in a row. With less than 100 days to go, this event is more than just a race; It is a sporting painting that combines the beauty of the waterfront and the glow of modern architecture, to draw the features of a global destination worth stopping by.
A trip that starts from the Gulf and ends in the heart of the city
The race begins with a two-kilometre swim in the calm waters of the Gulf, then the athletes ride their bikes for 80 kilometers through the streets of Lusail, before concluding with an 18-kilometre run that passes the city’s most famous landmarks, such as Lusail Plaza and Lusail Boulevard, where the streets turn into a lively track.
New 2026: Relay teams redefine competition
For the first time, athletes have the opportunity to take on the challenge within teams in the full distance and sprint races, in addition to individual and community championships for various distances. This addition gives the tournament a collective dimension, and opens the door to more diverse and comprehensive participation, making the competition open to amateurs and professionals alike.
A legacy that grows year after year
These expansions did not come out of nowhere; The inaugural edition in Doha last year attracted more than 5,000 athletes from 82 countries, a number that reflects the sports community’s confidence in Qatar’s ability to provide exceptional experiences. This stop comes as the conclusion of a global tour that covers nine international destinations, bringing together elite professionals in a race that determines world championship titles, and translates Qatar's vision of making sport a bridge for cultural communication.
Opportunity is still available
With less than 100 days remaining, registration is still open for participants wishing to engage in this unique experience, amid an atmosphere characterized by enthusiasm and professional organization that befits Lusail’s name as an emerging sports destination.
This event confirms that Qatar not only hosts sports, but also creates a story out of it in which competition blends with beauty and will in the city, so that Lusail remains a landmark in the global sports calendar, and a destination waiting for someone to write its next chapter at the finish line.
