Paris - France
This summer, the gardens of the Palace of Versailles will be transformed into an open theater that combines history and modern technologies, with an air show featuring more than 500 drones added to the “Great Night Waters” activities. The show will be held every Saturday evening until September 19, 2026, and the evening will conclude with a combination of illuminated planes and fireworks over the historic gardens.

Plates span hundreds of metres

Above the gardens of Versailles, designed by Andre Le Nôtre, drones form huge aerial drawings that may extend to 700 meters in width and 300 meters in height, in a spectacle that combines light, music and fire shows into one visual experience. The organizer says the new addition is designed to connect the palace's historical heritage with contemporary technological and artistic innovation.

“Group F” takes over the closing scene

The show is signed by the French company Groupe F, which specializes in pyrotechnic and visual displays. The night route culminates in the “grand perspective” of the Versailles Gardens, after a tour that extends between illuminated fountains, orchards, and Baroque music. Local tourist agencies describe the finale as a combination of light, music, fireworks and drones in one painting.
Drought reduces the fire part

Coinciding with the drought conditions, the Palace of Versailles announced a reduction in the size of fireworks on some evenings, while keeping the drone display as an essential element of the program. This reflects a trend towards using technologies that allow outdoor performances to continue while reducing some of the risks associated with weather and fires.

An experience that combines culture and entertainment

For the Arab tourist in Paris during the summer season, the offer provides an opportunity to combine a visit to one of the most famous European palaces with attending a different night event within the same gardens. The evening usually extends from 8:30 pm until 11:05 pm, while regular ticket prices range between 36 and 39 euros, depending on the official channels and the chosen date.
