Dubai - UAE
Emirates Airlines unveiled the world's first seat for the premium economy class that is fully electric, in a step that redefines the travel experience for this class, which has been widely popular since its launch four years ago. The new seat appears for the first time on board the Airbus A350 aircraft that the carrier recently received, giving passengers unprecedented control over their personal space and comfort throughout the flight.
Exceptional privacy and business class benefits
The innovative seat comes with an electric privacy barrier that extends the entire height of the seat. The traveler can raise or lower it with the touch of a button via the built-in control unit, and lock it in the position he prefers, whether for relaxing, eating, or working during the trip. The Premium Economy cabin on the A350 includes only 28 seats, arranged 2-3-2, with a width of 20 inches, and a distance between the seats of up to 39 inches, with the ability to recline the seat without affecting the passenger in the back row.
Modern technologies and integrated comfort
For the first time in this class, the seat offers wireless charging, along with a USB-C port and a table with a built-in phone holder. The carrier also enhanced comfort levels with an adjustable Safran U-Dream headrest and a leather footrest, in addition to a 13.3-inch entertainment screen with 4K HDR resolution, and an external camera system that provides new viewing angles.
A hospitality experience at its best
The carrier offers an upscale dining experience close to business class, with menus inspired by regional flavors served on Royal Doulton porcelain, in addition to exclusive travel amenity bags in cooperation with the “United for Wildlife” initiative, and skin care products from “Aveda”.
