Cairo - Egypt
The Library of Alexandria hosts the international art exhibition “The Architecture of the Two Holy Mosques between the Past and Saudi Vision 2030,” which provides visitors with a visual and cultural experience that reflects the engineering and architectural development of Islamic sanctities. The exhibition is jointly organized with the African Foundation for the Humanities and Social Sciences to promote cultural and intellectual tourism to the Bride of the Mediterranean.
Visual and three-dimensional axes for development
The exhibition addresses three main themes that embody ancient historical features, passing through modern architectural expansions, all the way to future projects that fall within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The event documents the massive urban transformations witnessed by the Two Holy Mosques through a unique set of photographs.
Photographic testimony of Islamic architecture
Regarding the importance of the initiative, Saudi photographer Khaled Khader, the artist responsible for the exhibition, explained that the displayed works seek to present a comprehensive visual document that records the architectural and historical development of Islamic sanctities, and convey to the visitor a vivid picture that combines the authenticity of the past with the boldness of future projects.
International presence and free visit
The exhibition witnesses the participation of an elite group of scholars and thinkers from eight Arab and European countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, Libya, Chad and Germany. The Library of Alexandria welcomes the public to follow this cultural event for free throughout its duration, without charging any entry fees.
The importance of investing in Arab cultural tourism
The exhibition constitutes an attractive model for Arab investors and tourists, as it reflects the growth of investments in the heritage and cultural urban development sector. It also opens new horizons for investors to benefit from cultural initiatives and integrated projects that link the tourism and hospitality sectors in the Arab region.
