Part one
In an image that sums up the meaning of challenge and belonging, four Arab flags gathered atop the Russian peak of Mount Elbrus, the highest on the European continent, with a height of 5,642 metres, in a brotherly Arab scene that sums up adventure, achievement, and joint self-work.
There, heroes from Kuwait, Tunisia, Egypt and Saudi Arabia appeared, to say that the homeland is proudly present, and nothing equals that moment that expresses sincere belonging. The mountains become a witness to determination and will, so that this summit will witness an Arab meeting on the roof of the European continent.
Getting to Elbrus is no ordinary walk; Each meter of ascent carries a challenge in itself. It represents the result of physical and psychological preparation, experience in dealing with the mountain, and the ability to make decisions in conditions that may change quickly, in addition to relying on carefully chosen expensive equipment and clothing.
When the climber reaches the summit, he does not climb alone; Rather, he carries with him the story of his country, its culture, and the dreams of those who follow his journey with a heart of prayer. That is why, in recent years, summits have become platforms on which adventurers prove their presence and turn achievement into a humanitarian message or a tourist invitation and a role model for the ambitious.
Mishal Al-Mandeel.. Commander of the mission, Saudi Arabia
Al-Mandil stated that the trip was organized by “Pangea Experiences, Trips and Destination Organization” in Saudi Arabia, and that the team succeeded in reaching the summit of Elbrus, within the Caucasus mountain range.
He explained that the delegation included Maryam Farrag from Egypt, Balqis Kassouri from Tunisia, Balqis Ramadan from Kuwait, and Noura Al-Shahrani and Nawaf Al-Saadoun from Saudi Arabia.
He added that the trip lasted six continuous days, and the total cumulative altitude reached about 3,100 metres, while the day of the summit witnessed an ascent of 642 metres, and took 15 hours to ascend and descend, amid difficult weather conditions, represented by stormy conditions and winds reaching a speed of about 40 kilometers per hour, in addition to low visibility due to fog.
He stressed that all team members worked in one spirit and in full cooperation, while adhering to directives and instructions, which contributed to overcoming the challenges and successfully achieving the goal.
