Damascus - Syria
The Syrian capital, Damascus, witnessed the launch of a Harley bike rally under the slogan “Syria for Tourism and Peace,” with wide participation from Kuwaiti and Syrian riders. The initiative, organized by the "Syria Rider" team, took a route that passes through many important historical and archaeological landmarks, starting from Damascus and reaching Tartous, Homs and Aleppo, with the aim of highlighting the attractive tourism elements and promoting messages of peace and stability.
Tangible impressions for visitors
The tour reflected positive impressions among the Gulf participants, who expressed their surprise at the beauty of nature, the warm reception, and the establishment of security. The stations included a visit to the archaeological amphitheater of Bosra al-Sham and a number of prominent landmarks, where the participants confirmed that the live experience changed the stereotypical mental image, stressing their aspiration to return on upcoming tourist and family trips to inspect the country’s history and ancient heritage.
A message of welcome and brotherhood
In this context, Hamad Al-Mudayrez, from the Kuwait Raiders team, expressed his immediate impression, saying: “We expected a Syria of destruction and broken streets. We saw a better Syria, and we did not expect it to be like this after the war.” This statement confirms the tangible transformation in the tourism reality and the direct impact of field visits in conveying the true picture to the regional public.
Opportunities for Arab visitors and investors
This rally represents an encouraging indicator for Arab tourists looking for rich cultural and historical dimensions in non-traditional destinations in the region, while providing the basic elements for recreation. On the other hand, this gradual recovery opens exploratory horizons for the Arab investor to monitor promising opportunities in the fields of hospitality, rehabilitation of tourist facilities, and development of logistical services as the sector regains its health.
