Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group) has concluded its participation in World Travel Market London 2026, held from 3 to 5 November as part of the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion. The group showcased its portfolio of destinations, hospitality projects and tourism experiences, alongside its efforts to strengthen international partnerships and promote sustainable investment.

The exhibition also witnessed the launch of the first edition of the Prosperity, Efficiency and Opportunity (PEO) Indicators, issued by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) in collaboration with OMRAN Group, covering 184 economies worldwide.

The indicators aim to introduce new tools for assessing tourism performance beyond visitor numbers and revenues. They measure the sector’s economic contribution, environmental efficiency and employment opportunities, helping governments and investors make decisions that support sustainable growth.

Eng. Iyad bin Ali Al Balushi, CEO of OMRAN Group, said: «We measure the value of our international participation by the opportunities and partnerships it creates, and the tangible impact they deliver.» He emphasised that the integration of roles across the group and its subsidiaries contributes to destination development, asset management and connecting Omani tourism experiences with global markets.

The indicators are particularly significant for the Sultanate of Oman, as their findings showed an improvement in the tourism sector’s performance in 2024 compared with 2019. Women accounted for 28% of tourism jobs, compared with 18% across the Middle East.

During its participation, the group presented its projects and hospitality assets to international investors and operators, while exploring cooperation opportunities to support destination development and strengthen the sector’s competitiveness.

The national travel operator Visit Oman also participated in the exhibition, highlighting its role in connecting local tourism products and experiences with global distribution networks and tour operators.

Shabib bin Mohammed Al Maamari, General Manager of Visit Oman, said: «We are working to expand the reach of Omani tourism experiences in global markets by building practical connections between local service providers and international distribution partners, creating broader business opportunities for the sector.»
