Muscat - Oman
The activities of Oman Climate Week 2026 begin today in Muscat and will continue until September 16 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, with the participation of government agencies, companies, investors and experts to discuss practical solutions related to energy, water, sustainability and the green economy.
The event is held under the slogan “From Vision to Implementation: Leading Climate Action,” with a focus on transforming climate plans into workable projects, in line with Oman Vision 2040 and the Sultanate’s plans to reach carbon neutrality by 2050.
Although the event is not tourism in the traditional sense, a number of its topics are directly related to the future of tourism, especially water and energy management, protecting ecosystems, sustainable transportation, and developing smart cities.
These files gain special importance in Oman, which enjoys natural diversity that includes mountains, valleys, deserts, coasts and reserves, which makes protecting natural resources an essential factor in supporting eco-tourism and adventure tourism.
Oman Climate Week also opens the way for technology, energy and infrastructure companies to provide solutions that hotels, resorts and tourist facilities can benefit from, by reducing energy and water consumption and improving operating efficiency.
These shifts provide opportunities for investment in green hospitality, low-emission transportation, and more sustainable management of natural destinations.
For the traveler, the impact of these policies could appear in the future in a tourism experience more connected to nature, with more efficient services and destinations capable of preserving their resources.
