Seven weekly flights instead of four from December 1, 2026, enhancing direct travel options between Oman and the Netherlands during the winter season.
Muscat – Sultanate of Oman – Al-Rehla
Oman Air has announced an increase in direct flights between Muscat and Amsterdam from four to seven weekly services starting December 1, 2026, representing a 75% increase in flight frequency as part of the airline's winter 2026–2027 schedule.
On November 3, the airline confirmed that the move to daily service responds to travel demand between Oman and the Netherlands while expanding air connectivity options with European markets.
From Four Weekly Flights to Daily Service
Oman Air launched its Muscat–Amsterdam route on July 1, 2025, establishing the first direct air connection between the two countries.
The increased frequency will give passengers greater flexibility in choosing departure and return dates, particularly during Oman's winter tourism season.
Daily flights will also create additional opportunities for travel agencies and tour operators in the Dutch market to develop tourism packages based on direct services to Muscat.
Increased Capacity Across European Routes
The Amsterdam expansion forms part of broader adjustments to Oman Air's winter schedule, which began on October 25.
Previously announced changes include tripling capacity on the Zurich route compared with the summer season, using wide-body aircraft on up to five weekly flights.
The airline's winter schedule also includes increased frequencies to Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Milan, and Istanbul, with up to five weekly flights to each destination.
Oman Air's European network serves 11 destinations, providing enhanced travel options between the Sultanate and European markets.
Al-Rehla Perspective | Opportunities for Winter Tourism
The increase in Amsterdam flights is particularly relevant to Oman's tourism sector during the winter season, when European visitors can explore destinations ranging from Muscat and Jabal Akhdar to the Sharqiya Sands.
The transition to daily flights represents a specific operational expansion. However, its actual impact on tourism will become clearer through passenger numbers, flight occupancy rates, and hotel booking volumes throughout the winter season.
